Mean ± SE of assessed clinical endpoints in the operated leg. The endpoints refer to the functional integrity and injury of the ACL and knee joint as revealed through assessing the translation of anterior or posterior bony element after manual manipulation of the knee joint; relative to the contralateral side (Gerber et al., 1985; Domnick et al., 2016; van Yperen et al., 2018. Abbreviations: VSRx, anterior drawer test assessed radiologically; VSklin, anterior drawer test assessed clinically; Lachant, anterior function test (Lachman); Lachpost, posterior function test (Lachman); Krepit, crepitation; Axfpat; degree of arthrosis of the femoro-patellar joint (Ahlbaeck); swell, swelling. Effects were assessed with a repeated-measures ANOVA with least significant differences as post hoc test n = 9.
