Comparison between the APPLE picker and the RELION semi-automatic particle picker. On the top are surface views of the 3D reconstruction of the β-galactosidase macromolecule created in RELION from the APPLE picks (when picking from CTF corrected micrographs) and obtained in UCSF Chimera. On the bottom are surface views of the 3D views detailed in (Scheres, 2015). We use the reference volume published on EMDB (EMD-2824) and obtain the views in UCSF Chimera.
