Components of the DECIDE intervention

a) A web-based decision CDSS was created which delivers patient-specific recommendations to the GP on what medication intensifications could be recommended, if appropriate. The algorithms in the CDSS are based on NICE guidance for management of hypertension and T2DM. The changes to the DECIDE intervention based upon the practice pilot study are outlined in Fig. 1. b) A training module was developed for intervention group GPs to explain all the steps in the intervention. Web-based training information and videos will be available on the DECIDE website, which houses the CDSS. An educational folder will be delivered to each GP on how to operate the CDSS.
