Initially, all groups were fed with standard rat chow (between week −3 and 0). Next, from week 0, rats in HF groups were fed with a 60% HF diet. *Caloric food intake was significantly higher (P < 0.05) in old vs. young HF groups from the beginning of the study until day 17 of diet treatment.
