Effects of HPV(+) and HPV(−) exosomes on immature human dendritic cells (iDC). Co-incubation of HPV(+) or HPV(−) exosomes with human PBMC-derived monocytes. The exosomes were added to monocytes on days 0 and 3 of culture as described in Methods. iDC were harvested on day 6 and were studied by flow cytometry for expression levels of co-stimulatory proteins on the cell surface in (A) or the APM components in the cytoplasm in (B). The data are from 3 experiments performed with iDCs generated from monocytes of 3 healthy donors. Stars denote significant differences between HPV(+) and HPV(−) exosomes at p < 0.05.
