PPS-MS exhibit antioxidant properties for multiple types of ROS. (A) PPS-MS significantly reduce Amplex Red fluorescence in a microsphere dose-dependent manner following 1 week of incubation with 100 μM H2O2 (one-way ANOVA, p < 0.001, *significant posthoc comparisons). (B) PPS-MS protect PGR from bleaching by ONOO in a dose-dependent manner (one-way ANOVA p < 0.0001, *significant posthoc comparisons). PGR absorbance was measured immediately after the addition of ONOO. (C) PPS-MS scavenge OCl dose-dependently (one-way ANOVA p < 0.001, *significant posthoc comparisons). OCl levels were measured after 10 min of exposure.
