Vessel damage caused by transcardial infusion of red PKH26 platelets (a,d) isolated from transgenic Alzheimer mice. Vessels were stained with Collagen IV (Alexa 647, (b) or Lectin-649 (e,h). Merged pictures showing red penetrating platelets in vessels are given in Figure (c,f). Staining for anti-mouse IgG (Alexa-488; g) shows vessel damage. Note several holes (arrows in b,e,h) in the vessel, where the platelet penetrates the vessel, indicating vessel damage. Scale bar in a = 7 µm (ai).
