Effect of Ras inhibitor lonafarnib on LPS-induced inflammation in human placenta. Human placenta was incubated with 10 mg/ml LPS in the absence or presence of 50 μM lonafarnib (lona) for 20 h (n = 6 patients). (a–d) IL-6, IL-8, MCP-1, and GRO-α mRNA expression was analysed by qRT-PCR, and the fold change was calculated relative to LPS. (e–h) The incubation medium was assayed for concentration of IL-6, IL-8, MCP-1, and GRO-α release by ELISA.
