Role of platelets in regulating innate and adaptive immune responses. Antigens (Ag) and maturation signal (MS) mediated activation of platelets leads to aggregation, endocytosis/internalization of the antigen, secretion of the cytokines (sCD40L, interleukin (IL)‐1β) and subsequent activation of the immune cells (dendritic cells (DC), T cells, and B cells).
