Figure 3. — Antiviral effect of interferon-alpha (IFN-α) against chikungunya virus (CHIKV) in Vero (a) HUH-7 (b), and A549 (c) cells. Vero cells were inoculated with CHIKV at a multiplicity of infection of 0.0001 and HUH-7 and A549 cells were inoculated at a MOI of 0.1. Infectious CHIKV, reported as Log₁₀ plaque forming units per ml (PFU/ml), was quantified by plaque assay on Vero cells. Data points represent the mean of three independent samples and error bars correspond to one standard deviation. The dashed line signifies the assay limit of detection.
