The hyperbolic curve represents the decrease in subjective monetary value of a reward when it is deferred (waiting time). As the waiting period increases, the subjective monetary value decreases, and the likelihood of choosing the delayed reward also decreases. For impulsive individuals, subjective monetary value is lower under all delay conditions.
