Hypoxia-inducible miR-200b reduces NO release in ECs by direct downregulation of eNOS expression. In normoxic ECs, NOS3 mRNA is actively stabilized by hnRNP E1 containing complex. Under hypoxia, hnRNP E1 dissociates from NOS3 3′UTR making it prone to destabilization by hypoxia-induced: miR-200b and sONE RNA. The hypoxic destabilization of NOS3 mRNA by miR-200b results in reduced eNOS protein and diminished NO release
