NRG-1—neuregulin 1, DBH—dopamine beta-hydroxylase (used here as a marker of sympathetic nerve fibers), GAL—galanin, VIP—vasoactive intestinal polypeptide, nNOS—neuronal isoform of nitric oxide synthase (a marker of nitrergic nerves), SP—substance P, CART—cocaine- and amphetamine-regulated transcript. 1) the average number of fibers in the microscopic observation field (0.1 mm2); 2) the percentage of nerves immunoreactive to the particular substances in respect to all NRG-1-positive nerves (NRG-1-positive nerves were considered as representing 100%).
