Neural circuits controlling food intake. Nutritional information is integrated into ARC in the hypothalamus. In ARC, orexigenic neurons express NPY, and AgRP, whereas anorexigenic neurons express POMC and CART. SIRT1 is expressed in both AgRP neurons and POMC neurons in the ARC.
