Dexamethasone suppresses AA-induced cytokine release in COPD and non-COPD. Pulmonary fibroblasts from COPD (n = 3) and non-COPD (n = 6) patients were pre-treated with dexamethasone (0.001 - 1 μM) for 60 min prior to challenge with AA (100 μM) in 0.1% BSA-DMEM for 48 h. Cell free supernatants were collected and CXCL8 (a) and IL-6 (b) release was measured using ELISA. All data are expressed as % of AA-induced cytokine release ± standard error of the mean.
