Proposed protective effects of simvastatin against cardiomyocyte hypertrophy. Cardiomyocytes are susceptible to hypertrophy when they were exposed to AngII. Simvastatin protected cardiomyocytes from hypertrophy, possibly by regulating 14-3-3 and autophagy. There may be a relationship between 14-3-3 and autophagy in cardiomyocytes. The red solid arrows show the positive effects, while the black solid arrows show the negative effects.
