Table 2.

CGP-37157 enhances the Rhod 2- or MitoSOX-red-fluorescence responses mediated by arsenite.

Treatment Rhod 2-fluorescence (arbitrary units) MitoSOX red-fluorescence (arbitrary units)
Untreated RP-cells 11.5 ± 1.4 11.3 ± 1.1
CGP-37157 16.9 ± 1.2 11.8 ± 1.3
Arsenite 20.4 ± 2.2 15.1 ± 1.5
Arsenite + CGP-37157 36.4 ± 2.4* 31.8 ± 2.6*

RP-cells were exposed for 4 h to arsenite (2.5 µM) in the absence or presence of CGP-37157 (3 µM). After treatments, the cells were analyzed for Rhod 2- or MitoSOX red-fluorescence. Results represent the means ± SD calculated from 3 separate experiments.

P < 0.01, as compared to cells treated with arsenite (one-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett's test).
