Methods to prevent nephrotoxicity associated with herbal medicine

1 Increased attention should be given to the possible nephrotoxicity associated with herbal medicine, the appropriate preparation, the comedication that has already been prescribed to the patient
2 Preclinical pharmacologic and toxicologic assessment of herbal medicine is recommended before widespread use

4 Avoid herbal medicine overdosage and long-term use
5 Carefully record all cases of adverse reactions (e.g., kidney function, allergy)
