Males with ASD who had high sex heterophily, or who had more friends of the opposite sex, had poorer social connectivity as compared to females with ASD. This suggests that male friends are especially beneficial for male children with ASD for creating and maintaining social connectivity. Dashed line = Male, continuous line = Female
