Overview of treatment samples. Total treatment sample of patients with AUD documented in the German Monitoring System of Substance Abuse Treatment is split into the treatment sample of older AUD patients aged 60+ years and the treatment sample of younger AUD patients (≤59). The treatment sample of older AUD patients aged 60+ years is further split into female and male patients and early- and late-onset patients. Beside the total number of each treatment sample numbers are also indicated for outpatient and inpatient settings. Because data of the age at onset of AUD are not available for all patients, subsamples of early- and late-onset patients do not add up to the number of the whole sample of AUD patients aged 60+ years
