An example of CBCT virtual navigation-guided PTNB for a visible nodule in a 48-year-old male. The preprocedural axial CBCT image shows a 0.7 cm-sized nodule in the right upper lobe (a). The fluoroscopic needle insertion view shows a small nodular opacity, which corresponded to the target location provided by the virtual guidance software (metallic indicator tip; b). The intraprocedural axial CBCT image taken after insertion of the needle shows that the nodule was correctly targeted (c). The pathological diagnosis of the nodule was a metastatic adenoid cystic carcinoma.
