Table 3.

Best fit models for linear mixed model of stream metabolic rates. For each model, the table shows predictors included, marginal R² (variance explained by fixed factors) and conditional R² (variance explained by both fixed and random factors). For all models, canopy was treated as a fixed effect nested within the random effect of stream. Each best fit model explained significantly more variation in GPP, ER, or NEP than the null model.
