Note that at 7 days, the cytoplasmic processes of these cells are still found extending around the vascular wall on the abluminal side of a smooth muscle (SM) cell and endothelial cells (EN), while at 14 days, they exhibit slender cytoplasmic processes branching out into the extravascular spaces.
