Complex formation of SMS1–GCS alters sensitivity to CERT inhibitor HPA-12. HEK293T, GCS KO, and SMS1 KO cells were pretreated with HPA-12 at the indicated concentrations in the growth medium for 1 h and further cultivated with 0.5 μCi of [14C]stearic acid (SA) for 3 h. Lipids were extracted, saponified, and separated by TLC (A and D).
