At left, the ‘geodesic planes’ (actually infinitesimal surface patches) at the centre of the cube. They are taken as the surfaces orthogonal to the black-white, red-blue, and green-magenta directions (indicated in colour). At right, some geodesics shot out in the plane orthogonal to the black-white direction and projected upon that plane. Schrödinger hypothesised that such geodesics would be loci of constant subjective hue, but, of course, such a notion can have only heuristic value.
