Multiple linear regressions were used to assess the % of ecosystem functions and properties (EAI) variance explained by each explaining variables. Note that regarding the weighted UniFrac distance, we calculated the distance between each treatment centroid and its corresponding control centroid. Therefore we ended up with a vector of control-to-treatment distances that we used as an explaining variable in the multiple regression. % of EAI variance explained by each explaining variables is given between parentheses. Significance levels: ∗∗∗ < 0.001, ∗∗ < 0.01, ∗ < 0.05.
