Low compressive strains reversibly reduce capsule thickness and increase anterior epithelial cell area and separation of fiber cell tips at the anterior suture. High compressive strains reversibly increase fiber cell widths at the equator, but irreversibly separate fiber cell tips at the anterior suture.
