For C57BL/6J mice, a horizontal nystagmus develops after nose-first entry into the magnetic field (A, left panels). The velocity increases to a peak after entry, before decreasing over time while the mouse remains in the magnetic field. No nystagmus was seen for head tilt mice (n=2 shown) in the tested positions in the MRI machine (B, right panels).
