Sheep, n = 6; goat, n = 3; buffalo, n = 4; cattle, n = 4; horse, n = 3; pig, n = 3; rat, n = 3; human, n = 3. Human data were generated by CAGE-seq, as previously described (10), and all other data were generated by RNA-seq as described.
