Under normoxia, MDA formation influences the threshold but not the systems behavior (i.e. bistability sustains). The parameter value of k_MDA (first order constant of the MDA production term) was reduced (to 0.15 mM⁻¹) and increased (to 0.45 mM⁻¹) by 50% of the original value (0.3 mM⁻¹). Simulation runs were conducted under normoxia with (A) FA_blood = 0.1 mM and (B) FA_blood = 1.1 mM, respectively.
