Schematic of follow-up of enrolled pregnant women. Pregnant women were screened for anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibodies in their third trimester of pregnancy. Those who were anti-HCV positive were tested for viremia at baseline and then every 3 months for the following 12 months after delivery. Women who had undetectable viral loads less than 6 months before their last (12-month) visit were recalled and tested again 6 months after their first undetectable viral load result, up to 18 months after giving birth.
