Figure 1. — Effect of amiodarone treatment in guinea pigs infected with guinea pig-adapted Mayinga variant of Ebola virus (EBOV/May-GPA). Guinea pigs (n = 15, 8 female and 7 male) received once-a-day oral treatment with 160 mg/kg amiodarone starting 3 days before virus challenge; the control group (n = 15, 8 female and 7 male) was treated with water in parallel. All animals were challenged on day 0 intraperitoneally with 3620 plaque-forming units of EBOV/May-GPA strain and monitored for survival (A) and weight (B).
