Comparing the migration of keratinocytes alone (control) and co-cultured with A fibroblasts uniformly dispersed throughout the collagen layers, B fibroblasts encapsulated in fibrin beads (5 or 10 mg/mL) prepared with 10 units/mL of thrombin, and C fibroblasts encapsulated in fibrin beads (5 or 10 mg/mL) prepared with 5 units/mL of thrombin. Overall, the presence of fibroblasts increased the keratinocyte migration rate when compared with keratinocyte monoculture constructs. For all constructs, the collagen concentration was 2.4 mg/mL and the fibrin wound composition matched the fibrin bead composition (n ≥ 9). The error bars represent standard deviation
