AtDGAT3 catalyses the synthesis of triacylglycerols. HPTLC plate showing the result of DGAT assay using an unlabelled DAG acceptor (1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycerol) and an acyl donor (Lauroyl Coenzyme A). Assays contained 60 µg proteins and were performed during 20 h at 30 °C under mild shaking. Reaction products were extracted and separated on HPTLC plates. Lipid identification was based upon migration obtained for lipid standards. + or − indicate the presence or absence of the different compounds in the reaction mixtures.
