Illustrations of the dual functionalized Tat-FeAgNPs. Core of the system involved silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), which were surface-modified by Tat and iron oxide nanoparticles. As carriers, silver nanoparticles could load thiolated drugs via thiol-silver bondage. Generally, Tat-FeAgNPs delivered the loaded cargos by 1) magnetism-assisted tumor retention from circulation, and then 2) Tat helped the nano-vehicles penetrate the tumor barrier inside where it released the chemical bombs to fight the neoplastic cells.
