ICP-MS of gold within tissues of mice injected orally vs intravenously. Notice the consistent levels of gold found within the liver and spleen of the IV injected mice indicating nanoparticle accumulation. Gold was confined to the stomach and large intestine of the orally dosed mice at 2 hours and then completely cleared by 24 hours.
