Confirmation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) isolated from human umbilical cord blood by morphological analysis and their ability to differentiate into fat cells (Oil-Red-O) and bone cells (Alizarin-Red-S). (A) MSCs at passage 3 were observed in the form of spindle-shaped cells under the microscope. (B) In adipocytes, intracellular lipid vesicles were stained bright red with Oil-Red-O, and (C) in osteocytes extracellular calcium deposition was stained bright red-orange with Alizarin-Red-S.
