Cell fusion inhibition by light is lost in the two LOV domain mutant alleles of Bwc1. Strains carrying the ade2 mutation with the genotypes listed were mixed with C. deneoformans strains JEC30 (lys1) or AI42 (lys1 bwc1) and cultured in the light or darkness for 24 h.
