Survivor Session 2 •Maintain and increase social/interpersonal relationships
•How to describe ostomy to others
•Managing ostomy while out in public
•Timing of intestinal activity in relation to social interactions
•Intimacy, sexuality and psychological impact
•Managing co-morbidities
•Managing other symptoms (i.e. fatigue)
•Problem-solving training: creating an emergency ostomy kit
•Assignment: 1) Review goals and assess progress in achieving goals; 2) Practice talking to a new person about ostomy
•Review resource list
Family Caregiver Session •Session overview
•What is an ostomy?
•Caregiving goals
•Ostomy care issues, equipment, nutritional issues, clothing issues
•Intimacy and sexuality

Survivor Session 3 •Review of nutrition log
•Implementing a healthy lifestyle (daily activities, exercise, diet, smoking cessation)
•Psychological health (setting new priorities, changing attitudes, psychological impact, survivorship issues)

•Problem-solving training: Being prepared for travel
•Assignment: Review goals and assess progress in achieving goals
•Review resource list
Session 4 (All Participants – Booster Session) •Review ostomy daily care, psychological impact, nutrition/exercise, remaining issues
