The number of transitions at RCCGGY positions in Salmonella clusters as a function of the total number of sequence changes. As in Fig. 3, red indicates the presence of MTase M.Sen35185ORF12517P in the cluster. These clusters do not exhibit hypermutation at these positions (compare to Fig. 3), although some other clusters do due to the actions of other MTases, which are discussed below.
