TNBC xenograft tumor does not respond to hyperoxygenation. Oxygen concentration (pO2) in TNBC xenograft tumors was measured during room-air breathing (baseline) and the end of 20 min of hyperoxygenation (100% oxygen) administered via nose-cone breathing. The plot shows the value of hyperoxygen pO2 as a function of baseline pO2. The error bars indicate SEM of measurement in the respective values. The results indicate that all, but one, of the tumors studied (N = 9) do not respond to hyperoxygenation suggesting that the TNBC tumors are not only severely hypoxic, but also resistant to hyperoxic intervention.
