Pal induces cell toxicity in INS-1 cells. INS-1 cells were incubated with different concentrations of Pal (Pal=0.25, 0.5, and 1.0 mmol/l) for different lengths of time (t=8, 24 and 48 h). The control cells were treated with NaOH. (A) MTT assay was used to detect the effect of Pal on cell viability of INS-1 cells. (B) Flow cytometric analysis using Annexing V-fluorescein isothiocyanate/propidium iodide for the detection of cell apoptosis induced by Pal (Pal=0.5 mmol/l).
