Figure 1

An effect of the recombinant BfL used at a single concentration (1.85 μM) on the growth of human cancer cells from the NCI-60 panel. For each cell line, the growth percent (GP) represents a value relative to the growth of this cell line in an absence of the lectin and is an average of two experiments (individual values are indicated by error bars). For ease of analysis, cell lines listed along the horizontal axis are grouped by the type of cancer and the growth bars are colored according to following scheme: green for GP > 90%, olive for 70% < GP < 90%, yellow for 50% < GP < 70%, and red for GP < 50%. A single cell line, LOX-IMVI, the growth of which was inhibited by ~97%, is indicated by a blue bar.
