All TKA prostheses were implanted with restoration of the medial joint line. (A) In five knees the joint line was aligned perpendicular to the mechanical axis (mechanical alignment). (B) In the five other knees, the lateral joint line also was restored at its original level (kinematic alignment), thereby restoring the slight obliquity of the natural joint line.
