Growth kinetics of wild type and peptidoglycan recycling mutants in LB medium. S. aureus wild type (wt, black triangles), ΔmupG mutant (red triangle), and ΔmupGmurQ (green squares) cells were grown in LB medium under constant shaking and the optical density was monitored at 600 nm (OD₆₀₀) up to 24 h. Experiment was performed in triplicates and data were presented in GraphPad Prism 6 as mean ± SD. Arrows indicate the time when samples were taken for the generation of cytosolic fractions in different growth phases.
