Overview of the tools discussed in this review. The RaPID system (pink), which is the primary tool for drug-like peptide discovery discussed in this review, is derived from a combination of the FIT system (orange) with a modified mRNA display technique (green) [15,16]. The FIT system itself is derived from a combination of a modified PURE in vitro translation system (blue) [17] with flexizyme technology (tan) [18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27].
