Simulation of time-integrated emission of bleaching kinetics with rate coefficients. The time integrated signal was calculated for the model in Equation (48) according to Equation (50) and plotted in Mathematica as a function of the stretching parameter, b, in this model (A). The bleach rate constant was k2 = 0.1 s−1, and M = 100 molecules corresponding to a TiEm from the singlet state (Equation (16)) of = 1,000. This equals the vsalue of = 1,000 for b = 0. The TiEm for the model, , is plotted for three values of the equilibrium constant of the photocycle, q = 2 (blue curve), q = 1 (red curve) and q = 0.5 photons/molecule (green curve), respectively; (B) 3D plot of the same model with identical parameters but as function of both, b and q.
