Inhibitory effect of fisetin on LPS/IFN-γ- or peptidoglycan-stimulated iNOS and IL-1β expressions. BV-2 microglial cells were pretreated with different concentrations of fisetin (1, 3, or 5 μM) for 60 min, then challenged with LPS plus IFN-γ (A,B), or peptidoglycan (C,D) for another 6 h. The expression of iNOS and IL-1β were determined by real-time PCR. Cytokine expression was significantly different between the LPS/IFN-γ (or peptidoglycan) alone and the LPS/IFN-γ (or peptidoglycan) with fisetin groups. The results are expressed as mean ± S.E.M. from 3 to 4 independent experiments. * p < 0.05 compared with the control group; # p < 0.05 compared with the LPS/IFN-γ treatment alone group.
