Influences of some benzimidazole-4,7-diones and tirapazamine on cell apoptosis in normoxic and hypoxic conditions.

Normoxic (A: 24 h, B: 48 h) and hypoxic (A: 24 h, B: 48 h) A549 and WM115 cells were cultured in the presence or absence (CTR, control) of the selected compounds and tirapazamine (T) as a reference compound at indicated concentrations. Cell apoptosis was determined by caspase 3/7 activity assay after the 24 h and 48 h treatments. Caspase activity was measured as a luminescence light unit [RLU] and expressed as a mean ± SD, n = 3, * p < 0.05.
