The levels of IL-6 and reactive oxygen species (ROS) were measured by ELISA. IL-6 values are presented as (pg/ml) and ROS values are presented as (nmol/ml). The results from five mice per group are expressed as the mean level of each parameter ± SEM. The data were analyzed by ANOVA with Tukey’s post hoc test. Differences were considered statistically significant at *P<0.05 for HS vs. control;
